Digital is the big buzz
word in the photographic industry right now. It has several benefits to
the actor as well as drawbacks.
- With digital you can see your pictures almost
immediately after the shoot, but with film you may have to wait longer
for your contact sheets. I personally like digital, because the actor gets an imediate view of the shoot, and I get immediate feedback so I can make adjustments as needed.
- Some digital photographers will do retouching
on the premises eliminating one step in the headshot process. Some film
photographers will do the same, if not they will be able to refer you to
some one they trust.
- Keep in mind that convenience has a tendency to be expensive. Remember
to budget not only for your photographer but reproductions as well. When
looking at digital photographers make sure you pick one who has invested
allot of money in equipment, or you will not get the best results. Generally
a good digital photographer who has invested in the proper equipment will
price a shoot at $500 or more.
