Who should keep the negatives
is a big issue with some actors. This is an argument to clear up with your
photographer before the shoot. Your photographer will be able to store them
in a safe manner, and when you need them again you will know right where
they are.
I put a lot of work into
making sure that each print represents both my client and my photography
in the best possible light. Most actors that want to keep their negatives
are looking for an inexpensive option to getting more prints. The odds are
these actors are going to get the cheapest prints possible from someone who
does not care about those prints as much as I do. They will probably not
fine tune little details in the eyes, background and clothing that I would.
I take pride in my work and the quality I offer.
Some actors are afraid that
the photographer will use these pictures in less than ethical ways. Make
sure you discuss this with your photographer, they know the legal rules regarding
what a photographer can do with your photograph.
