I have yet to hear of a photographer
with a book with a lot of bad photographs in it. Every photographer is going
to show you what represents their work the best. Looking at a photographers'
book is about reading into their style.
Look at their style. Does
this photographer capture these people in a way you want to be captured?
Do the actors in the photographs look relaxed and comfortable? Or do they
look stiff and posed.
Pay particular attention
to the eyes, do they look alive or dead. It is the eyes that will sell you,
especially in film work.
Another thing to carefully
evaluate is whether or not the make up style is appropriate for you. Does
the make up look natural or is it too glamorized? Some actors want that
glam look, so you need to make a difficult judgement as to whether the make
up changes from person to person according to their need or if the same look
is applied to everyone.
